Strategies for Motivation
1. Writing/ Journaling - As corny as this sounds, it helps to write down your thoughts. Although your thoughts seem unclear, you'll feel better about yourself. The journal is an active reminder of what you want to achieve and as you look back, you'll see how you improved from when you started up until now.
2. Storytelling/ Role Play - This is another way to gather your thoughts and allows you to focus on your goal. Begin your story by saying how you came to be who you are right now and express your thoughts on why you want to live a healthy lifestyle. After this, it will get easier to be motivated to get fit and eat right.
3. Visualization - An effective technique such as this will be sure to motivate you to get into a healthy lifestyle. You can do this by visualizing how you want to look in the future and how happy you will be knowing that you accomplished your goal. In doing so, you will acknowledge that it is possible to achieve your goal and push yourself to work harder to achieve it.
Use these strategies to get yourself motivated, obtain a plan of action and achieve your goal. I would recommend getting an accountability partner who knows what you want to do and encourages you along the way. Now go and get to it!
